Biography


Born on September 29, 2000, in Daejeon, South Korea, Yeoshin Jang discovered her passion for music at the tender age of five when she first embraced the flute.

Yeoshin's pursuit of musical excellence led her to traverse continents in search of knowledge and mastery. She commenced her Bachelor's at the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique et de Danse de Paris at the age of 15, where she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's degrees under the tutelage of the esteemed Prof. Philippe Bernold. Her time in Paris not only honed her technical prowess but also nurtured her artistic sensibilities, laying the foundation for a stellar career ahead.

Seeking further enrichment, Yeoshin embarked on an exchange program at the Universität der Künste Berlin, studying with the esteemed Prof. Christina Fassbender. This cross-cultural experience broadened her musical horizons and imbued her playing with a depth and nuance reflective of her diverse influences. From October 2021 to July 2024, Yeoshin pursued her Orchestral Music Master's program at the Universität der Künste Berlin under Prof. Christina Fassbender. She has now graduated with her second Master’s degree, achieving the highest distinction (1.0). Starting in October 2024, she will begin her Konzertexamen/Meisterklasse degree under the esteemed Prof. Mario Caroli at the Freiburg Musikhochschule.

Yeoshin's journey as a flutist is characterized by a rich tapestry of experiences, from captivating chamber music concerts alongside luminaries like Mathieu Dufour, Stefan de Leval Jezierski, and Bence Bogányi at the Gonjiam Flute & Woodwind Festival, and with Scharoun Ensemble at Zermatt Music Festival 2024.

As an orchestral musician, Yeoshin's talent has been sought after by renowned ensembles such as the SWR Symphonieorchester since 2023, where she is playing as a Praktikantin (intern), and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, where she became a valued member. Her contributions to orchestral music extend beyond performance, as evidenced by her guest appearances with esteemed ensembles at the Karajan-Akademie of the Berliner Philharmoniker, among others. She has performed in orchestras under the following conductors: Sir Simon Rattle, Klaus Mäkelä, Teodor Currentzis, Lahav Shani, 
Tarmo Peltokoski, Andres Orozco-Estrada, Ingo Metzmacher, Robert Trevino, Cornelius Meister, Anu Tali, Bruno Mantovani, Ariane Matiakh, and many others, at venues such as the Berliner Philharmoniker Großer Saal, and their Kammermusiksaal, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Freiburg Konzerthaus, Mannheimer Rosengarten, Stuttgart Beethoven Saal, Cité de la Musique de la Philharmonie de Paris, Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Auditori Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Música Madrid, Palau de la Música de València, Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall, among others.

She participates as a member in the Verbier Music Festival Academy & Orchestras (VFO) from 2024, as an Academist in the Zermatt Music Festival & Academy Orchestra 2023 & 2024. She is a Scholar (Stipendiatin) at the Landesstiftung 'Villa Musica', was a recipient of the Falaut Borse di Studio "Conrad Klemm" 1st Edition Diploma di Merito, and attended the Academy of the Freunde der Tiroler Festspiele Erl.

Yeoshin's solo career is equally illustrious, marked by captivating performances with orchestras such as the Cheong-ju Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dae-gu Symphony Orchestra. Her remarkable talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 1st Prize at the International Music Competition "Vienna" Grand Prize Virtuoso, 1st Prize (Prix special Or) at the Paris Music Competition ‘Les Musicales du Centre’, Seoul Music Competition, the Jury Special Award at the Tokyo International Flute Audition, 1st Prize at the Seoul Music Competition, at the Seoul Arts Concours, and at the Korea Flute Association Concours, among others.

Yeoshin has held the following performances : Yae-jin Young Artist Concert  Recital, Kumho Prodigy Concert series Recital, Concert at the 31st Young Musician Festival of Eumyoun and Concert at the New York Summer Music Festival (NYSMF), and so on.

She received further musical inspiration from lessons and Masterclasses with Emmanuel Pahud, Mathieu Dufour, Henrik Wiese, Michael Martin Kofler, Peter Lukas Graf, Sophie Cherrier, Natalie Schwaabe, Jan De Winne, José-Daniel Castellon, Michel Moraguès, Denis Bouriakov, and others.
